This course provides practical guidance on genetic counselling in haemoglobin disorders, including thalassaemia and sickle cell disease. It is designed for healthcare professionals who support affected individuals and families, particularly those without formal training in genetic counselling.

Through a patient-centred approach, the course covers key concepts in genetics, communication, and ethical practice, aiming to strengthen participants’ skills in delivering clear, compassionate, and effective care.

This course offers a series of educational case studies that cover thalassaemia, sickle cell, and haemoglobin variants. Our case studies are designed to help lab professionals interpret cation-exchange HPLC chromatograms through a step-by-step evaluation process, discussions, and animated diagrams.

This course will be available for enrolment in March 2022.

This course focuses on the clinical management of thalassaemia, covering a rich set of related topics for internationally-located medical specialists with an interest and/or active involvement in this area.
